The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inaugurated the 20 Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement community sensitisation on the achievements of the President Bola Tinubu led administration.
At the inauguration ceremony which took place at the 10 Degrees Events Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, Oath of Allegiance was administered to the Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
20 new buses were distributed to the local government coordinators at the event to aid mobility and mobilisation of people towards various parts of the state.

Sanwo-Olu explained that the primary responsibility of the coordinators was to create awareness and stimulate conversations at the grassroots on the promises made by the present administration to Nigerians and the progress recorded so far.
The governor stressed that the initiative was not a political campaign but a movement aimed at informing Nigerians about ongoing reforms and achievements of the Federal Government.
“This is not a campaign rally. This is an activation of what we believe in and a commitment to informing citizens about government programmes and promises being fulfilled,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu said the coordinators were expected to take awareness campaigns to communities, wards and polling units, adding that the initiative would help bridge communication between government policies and the grassroots.
Highlighting achievements of the Federal Government, the governor noted that ongoing reforms had contributed to infrastructure development, economic stabilisation, increased foreign direct investment and improved social welfare initiatives.
He said the Federal Government had also made progress in infrastructure expansion across regions, currency stabilisation and implementation of a new minimum wage for workers.
Sanwo-Olu urged the coordinators to intensify community engagement and sensitisation efforts across the state.

Lagos Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde said that the initiative is a strategic national movement aimed at strengthening public confidence and citizen engagement.
He described it as a civic engagement platform created to promote awareness of national programmes and encourage citizens’ participation in socio-economic development.
Ayinde stressed that the movement operates through a coordinated national framework led by its Director-General, and urges the coordinators to serve as a link between government policies and citizens, noting that they were expected to disseminate information on national achievements to markets, campuses, and communities.

Also in attendance were Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; members of the National Assembly; Lagos State Executive Council members; Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi; Attorney General and Commissioner for the Ministry of Justice, Lawal Pedro; council chairmen, party executives, traditional rulers and stakeholders from across the Southwest.
Comrade Japheth Odesanya, Coordinator R H A, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, who spoke on behalf of other colleagues thanked the governor and political leaders.
In his words, “Gratitude is the most transformative virtue and the parent of all other virtues.”
He expressed gratitude to the leadership for the trust reposed in them and assured that no stone would be left unturned to ensure victory for PBAT in the coming elections.
